Phil is President of Johnson Financial Advisors and has been involved in financial services since 1976. Over the years, he has been honored as one of the nation’s best financial advisers.1 A popular speaker and writer on the subject of money management, Phil has been featured in USA Today, the Washington Post, Worth, Money Magazine, the Arizona Republic and the Arizona Business Gazette.

Phil has served on the national board of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and as President of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP), Greater Phoenix Chapter. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association and is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.

Not only was Phil born in Phoenix, but he is a fifth-generation Arizonan and is very committed to community and civic causes. He does fundraising for scouting and college scholarship programs and encourages parents to teach money skills to their children at a young age. When families cannot afford a financial advisor, he frequently donates his time and experience.

Phil and his wife, Lynn, are active in their church and enjoy time with their children and grandchildren.

A sixth generation Arizonan, Marcus is Vice President of Investments and an advisor at Johnson Financial. He brings technology expertise and a fresh perspective to the financial planning profession. He specializes in portfolio management and comprehensive financial planning. 

Marcus is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and has FINRA licenses (Series 7, Series 66 ) as well as life, disability and variable annuity licenses. He earned a certificate in financial planning from Boston University and graduated in finance from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University. 

Marcus serves as President-Elect of the Financial Planning Association of Greater Phoenix (a professional association of 400 financial adivisors) and has been a financial advisor panelist for the Arizona Republic and local television and radio stations. His previous experience includes working at Beneficial Life Financial Group as well for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, DC with Congressman Jeff Flake.

Marcus is active in the community having served as President of the Rotary-Tempe South Club and currently as a minister, serving as a Stake President in the LDS church. He enjoys speaking to community groups about financial literacy. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoyed serving a two-year service mission for the LDS Church in Mexico. Marcus and his wife, Alexandria, are members of the ASU President's Club and are the parents of two boys.

Married to Phil Johnson, Lynn has been involved in the business since its beginnings and earned her CFP designation in 1991. She is active in community causes and is frequently asked to speak regarding money management and the importance of women becoming financially literate. Passionate about philanthropy, Lynn encourages individuals and families to support worthy causes and to consider charitable gifts when doing estate planning.

She has initiated numerous community involvement projects for her church, including bringing reading volunteers into the classroom at a Phoenix elementary school for immigrant, African refugee, and homeless families. She has been a major fundraiser for the Heritage Foundation in her hometown of Snowflake, Arizona and currently serves on the board of the Arizona Museum of Natural History Foundation.  She also serves with her husband on the BYU-Hawaii Genuine Gold Society, which raises scholarship money for international students.

 Her proudest achievement, however, is a growing family of four children and nine grandchildren. In 2005, Lynn was selected as Arizona Mother of the Year by American Mother’s Inc.

Debra has over seventeen years of client service experience in the securities industry. She enjoys getting to know each client and assisting them in any way.  She is key to making sure all office operations flow smoothly.

Debra originally hails from Sioux City, Iowa and is the mother of two children—a college-age daughter, and a son who is currently serving in the military.  Debra also enjoys sports, music, ballet, and plays. Early in her career she received training as a legal secretary, and that attention to detail has paid off. Debra is responsible for setting up all new investment accounts, IRA and 401(k) rollovers, and retirement distributions from qualified plans. “I enjoy the staff at Johnson Financial Advisors,” she says, “and am proud to work with exceptional professionals.”

Amy enjoys a challenge and her accuracy and attention to detail make her a vital part of our JFA team.  Originally from Chicago, Amy wanted to “go west” when she went to college and Northern Arizona University gave her a taste of Arizona living.  She has remained here every since, making Scottsdale her home! 

Amy is married and has two sons, one at home and one serving in the Marines.  Their family loves outdoor activities such as camping, rafting, hiking, and everything baseball—from their son’s games to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Amy is well trained in all office operations and is eager to serve each and every client.  She wants to give each individual the personalized and professional service they deserve.
